Students practicing asanas

I wish there were more people in this world like you, Cathy. The world would be a much better place. You have shed light on how every person has the potential to help someone. I want you to know that you have helped me and changed my life completely. Ever since I started coming to your classes almost a year ago I had struggled for as long as I can remember with my body image and who I was in general. I appreciate and respect you not only as my yoga teacher, but also as a friend. I look forward to your classes and always walk away feeling rejuvenated and hopeful. You encourage the good in people to come out and give me faith that I too, can make not only myself but also the world around me a better place. You have a fire in you that should never dim. Thank you for everything you have done for me and for others as well. I know I am not the only person whose life you have changed.

I, for one, have seen your talents reach far beyond Saturday morning, just talking with my optometrist about yoga, I saw it first hand. She said she had heard through a friend that your Ashtanga classes were challenging, but the most fun they had in a while. She decided to try it, came to a class around Halloween and talked about how much fun she had. She said you were the first yoga teacher to bring “fun” into the practice. She went on and on about how strong and graceful you are and how it was an inspiration to her to continue in her practice. She had spent less than two hours with you and you had left an indelible mark on her. How many people can honestly say they have that gift?

Cathy is one of those people. You know it immediately. True, honest, caring...nothing concealed. People are drawn to her, want to be around her, want to learn from her. It’s what makes her a natural teacher of the most natural of arts. She will challenge you one moment, and make you laugh at yourself the next. I find her passion to be truly infectious on and off the mat. Cathy is the consummate gentle soul from whom we can all learn.
